God’s Gotcha Covered

One of the ways God revealed Himself to Abraham was through the name Jehovah Jireh, which means “the Lord our Provider” (Genesis 22:14).

God’s very nature is provision. And if we look at that word provision, “pro” means ahead and “vision” means to see. You could say that God is “the Lord who sees ahead and provides” in your life.

I love that! And we can see that it was true in Abraham’s case. Even before Abraham left to go up on Mt. Moriah and obediently offer Isaac as a sacrifice, God already had a provision in mind.

While Abraham and Isaac were heading up one side of mountain, the Lord had a ram on the way up the other side, even though they couldn’t see it at the time.

Provision is On the Way

I’m here to tell you, if you’re obeying God, He already has a provision on the way to meet you in that place of obedience, even if you can’t see it yet! He is Jehovah Jireh, the God who sees ahead and provides.

Think of it like this: what you need may already be on the way, ready to appear in perfect timing. When you’re walking in obedience to Him, you’re on a collision course with His provision.

If you could pull back the veil and look into the spirit realm, you could see the angels and all the power of heaven working for your good.

Imagine everything that could be going on behind the scenes right now, bringing God’s will to pass in your life. It’s exciting to think about. It’s what you’re supposed to be thinking about! (instead of being moved by the circumstances you see and feel).

What draws this blessing and provision from the unseen realm into manifestation? Your faith (1 John 5:4). You must believe that God is providing as He said He would.

Let me say that another way. In order for you to see your provision come to pass in the natural realm, you have to keep believing what God has said. No matter what you see. Keep believing His promises.

After all, God’s been to your future and back (Isaiah 46:10). He’s already provided for everything you need (Ephesians 1:3). Are you fully persuaded of that? (Romans 4:21). You have a choice, just as Abraham had some choices.

Obey and Believe

Abraham could have stayed home from Mt. Moriah and refused to offer Isaac – he could have simply held on to what looked good to him and disobeyed.

Or, he could have headed off toward the mountain, but fussed and fretted all the way. “Oh no! I have to sacrifice my beloved son! I’m heartbroken! No one else has to suffer through something like this!” I have a feeling if he’d done that, it would have hindered that ram’s progress up the other side of the mountain.

I believe it was Abraham’s faith that caused that provision (the ram) to make it all the way to the thicket, where and when it was needed.

And it’s your faith that’s going to cause God’s provision to be in the right place at the right time in your life as well!  Faith obeys and says, “I know God is working all things together for my good right now” no matter what it looks like (Romans 8:28).

Get excited about it — God has a ram on the way! If you’re following His plan, it will be there. God is faithful. Romans 8:32 says, If God spared not His only Son, but delivered Him up for us all, how shall He not with Him freely give us all things?

All things means all things! If He didn’t withhold Jesus from you on the cross, there is nothing else He will ever withhold from you! Be expecting the provision that’s waiting on the other side of your obedience and faith. God’s gotcha covered!
