When You Need Help or Direction...Pray in the Spirit!

Have you ever realized that the answer to every question in your life is actually living inside you?

Because when you were born again, God's Holy Spirit came to live in you! He has wisdom beyond your own knowledge, strength for every day, and direction for your life's path.

The Bible says He's in there to form you into the image of Jesus (2 Corinthians 3:18). And He's in there to give zoe life to your mortal body (Romans 8:11).

And He's also in there to pray for you when you don't know what to pray for! Romans 8:26 says, We do not know what we should pray for as we ought, but the Spirit Himself makes intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.

In other words, God has made a way so that when you don't know what to do, you can pray in the Holy Spirit - in other tongues - and when you do, everything God is and everything He knows can start flowing in your life!

God's Perfect Plan

The Holy Spirit is in you, so of course He's directly involved with everything you're involved with. When He prays through you in the supernatural language of tongues, He is praying out God's perfect, individualized plan for your life - things that may even be a mystery to you.

First Corinthians 14:23 says, For he who speaks in a tongue does not speak to men but to God, for no one understands him; however, in the spirit he speaks mysteries.

When you give the Holy Spirit opportunity by praying in tongues, He can pray for your calling, your edification, your strength, your answers - anything you need. In fact, He can pray out things you don't even know you need yet!

I like what one minister says, "He can pull you out of everything Jesus set you free from, and into everything that Jesus says you are in Him."

It makes sense when you think about it. We know that God's plan for us is in the Spirit realm...and the Spirit is in us! He is armed with all the knowledge. He's been to your future and back. Of course He would know how to pray out the mysteries of your life.

When we spend time praying in the Spirit, we are praying out divine secrets, or spiritual laws. We know that things happen first in the spiritual realm and then in the natural. So praying in the Holy Spirit is praying spiritual laws into action so that circumstances (natural laws) line up with the purpose and plan of God for our lives.

Tap Into the Spirit Realm

The devil hates it when you pray in tongues. Why do you think he's worked so hard to make it controversial? He knows that when we pray in the Spirit, we're praying beyond what we know; we're praying out God's perfect plan. And there's nothing he can do to stop it!

So he lies to people about it. And he tells us it won't help - it's not our answer in times of trouble. But it is! God has put His Spirit inside of us so we can tap into the Spirit realm any time.

When we pray in tongues, we activate the Holy Spirit within us and He begins to teach us and enlighten us. He has plans for you that are so good, your human mind hasn't even conceived them - things that are beyond what you can ask or think!

Look at the Apostle Paul. In 1 Corinthians 4:18 he said he prayed in tongues more than anyone in the whole Corinthian church, and he ended up writing most of the New Testament!

I can't tell you how many times God has led me into seasons of praying more than ever in the Spirit, and as a result I've seen amazing things have happen in my life - supernatural things that I don't believe could have come to pass any other way. In fact, I'd say that just about every major breakthrough in my life has come after extra times of praying in the Spirit.

So I encourage you - take some time to tap into the mind of God. Speak forth His wisdom and draw out His plan by praying in the Spirit!
